Decision Making
Decision making is easy when there is only one option. Sometimes the path is clear, sometimes there are no exit ramps, only a tunnel to be navigated along a straight track, but more often, decision making means having to determine which is the best path even when you don’t have all the information you want. It is as if you are on a train speeding through a tunnel being told there is going to be a switch ahead and having to pick which way to go without being able to see it. All of a sudden questions begin to emerge about your speed, location, and destination…questions you didn’t even know you had. Maybe you are someone who lives for the thrill of the adventure, so you are energized by opportunities ahead, but if you are someone who likes stability, it is easy to be scared of the unknown. If you are the first, be aware that the other passengers on the ride may not be as eager as you are, so be patient with them as they cautiously navigate through the darkness. If you are the second person, give yourself grace in this times of uncertainty knowing that you aren’t alone, try to focus on the next right move, and try to find an a friend who is eager for whatever the future holds (because enthusiasm is contagious).
