Is focused work at the office still possible?

The ability to do focused work, the kind of work that requires deep thought and uninterrupted concentration, remotely is one of the things that divided us during the pandemic. For some people, working at home provided many more distractions than working in the office: the children, pets, spouse, or roommates who needed or wanted something all the time. For others, working at home provided the ability to shut out the noise of our coworkers by literally disconnecting.

In either instance, as more and more of us face the reality of increased time in the office and less time working on our own, we will again need to make the necessary adjustments to our routines and habits. And how we reacclimate to it will determine our success or failure.
