Summer is for…

Summer is for recharging, resetting, and regrouping. How will you make the most of it? Here’s a few ideas to get you started:
Recharge
Take a vacation
Hang out with friends
Spend a weekend doing nothing
Block a day during the week to do something just for you
Grab a quick nap
Reset
Chart/journal your time to make sure you are spending it doing what brings you and your organization value (If you need a time tracker, grab one for free off my website)
Look back at your annual goals and objectives to see if they are all still important or if anything is missing for end of year success. (Don’t be afraid to add and remove items as necessary)
Complete a stakeholder or SWOT analysis to evaluate how you are positioning your brand (Chapter 4 of Reimagine Your Work has those details and is available as a free download on my website - just look for bag of Takis)
Regroup
If you are working too much, have a conversation with your leader about it and explore alternatives for a few weeks or the rest of the year. And if you aren’t working as much as you should be, ramp it up…you know what you have committed to doing, so do it.
If you need to do a little brand management, there’s no time like the present. Remember that your brand is a series of dials and you control how much you turn each part up and down.
If you have any objectives that are behind, make a plan now to get them back on track. Maybe you need to focus, maybe you need to reallocate resources or maybe you need to outsource. There are still 6 months left until the end of the year, so make the change now while there’s still time.
